Can you promote in r/saas?

Discussions and useful links for SaaS owners, online business owners, and more.

The short answer

Participate organically with helpful, on-topic contributions, disclose your affiliation up front, avoid links or solicitation unless strictly necessary, and follow the 1-post-per-60-days and any mod-approval requirements for surveys/AMAs.

What works here

  • Answer questions with useful, non-salesy advice
  • Mention your product sparingly with clear 'Founder here' disclosure
  • Share blog content if the main ideas are in the post and link only at the end

What gets posts removed

  • Posting to solicit customers, leads, testers, donations, or funding
  • Posting repeated promotional content or using alt accounts
  • Sharing obfuscated/shortened links, tracking links, or blackhat promo tools
  • Posting surveys, AMAs or polls without mod approval

Where this comes from

Disclosure and posting limit

Promotion allowed occasionally but requires clear affiliation disclosure and is limited to 1 mention every 60 days; accounts focused on promotion are removed.

No solicitation or lead gen

Posts focused on selling, soliciting clients, fundraising, or lead generation will be removed and can get banned.

Value required; no naked links

Content must provide context and value; 'naked' links or low-effort posts are removed; blog links allowed only if post contains main ideas and link at end.

Surveys/AMAs need mod approval

Research posts, surveys, or product-validation polls require mod approval and will be rejected if used for lead gen.

Prohibitions on promotional tool types

Promotion of SaaS for advertising/promotion/automation (tools that generate or automate outreach) is explicitly banned.
