Where this comes from

No commercial self-promotion

Commercial/self-promotional posts are removed unless they meet strict advertising allowances (free version parity + FOSS OR source-available + mod approval + disclaimer).

Prior approval required

Advertising can be allowed only with prior moderator approval when not FOSS.

Disclosure and ethics for surveys

Surveys and data-collection posts must disclose purpose, avoid PII and monetization, and share results back.

No disguised advertising

Posts posing as requests for help/feedback but serving as marketing will be removed and banned.

Accuracy and quality requirements

Claims must be accurate and posts should be high-quality; low-effort/spam removed.
