Can you promote in r/growthhacking?
Welcome to world's largest Growth Hacking Community. A place for Growth Hacking practitioners and professionals to discuss Growth Marketing. Share novel growth marketing experiments, new tools, news and startup growth marketing stories. This community is for founders and marketers who are looking to learn, share and collaborate.
The short answer
Participate genuinely first to build >=100 community karma, ask mods for permission before posting product/survey/beta requests, disclose your role, and keep posts high-value and topical.
What works here
- Share original, high-value growth experiments or case studies (one link at end) after 100 community karma
- Participate in discussions and comment helpfully without overt promotion
- Request mod approval before promoting SaaS, surveys, beta tests, or listing on banned sites
What gets posts removed
- Posting direct ads, product pitches, or recruiting customers without mod approval
- Linking to content while under 100 community karma
- Asking for free growth ideas or crowdsourcing product strategy
- Posting surveys/feedback/beta requests or collecting member contacts without prior mod permission
Where this comes from
No Self-Promotion until 100 karma
Self-promotion (blogs, products, podcasts, videos) requires at least 100 community karma and low-effort posts will be removed.
SaaS/vendor posts need mod permission
Founders/employees/marketers of SaaS must seek moderator permission before promoting tools.
Surveys/feedback/beta require permission
Moderator approval required if collecting contacts, asking DMs, or promoting private groups in surveys/feedback/beta/reviews.
Link allowance for original content
Original exclusive content may include one link at the end of a post, allowed after reaching 100 community karma.
Topicality and banned sources
Posts must be growth-marketing topical; links from TikTok and ProductHunt are banned unless approved by mods.
