Can you promote in r/email?

Tools and tips for email marketing, martech, deliverability, & management best practices. This is NOT the correct subreddit for questions regarding the use of individual e-mail accounts or for cold email marketing tools and strategies.

The short answer

Answer helpfully and substantively, disclose your affiliation briefly if relevant, use the Service Provider flair when available, and avoid linking to pricing/landing pages or making direct solicitations.

What works here

  • Answer technical/industry questions with substantive content
  • Post content-rich articles or case studies (not landing pages)
  • Use 'Service Provider' user flair and appropriate link flair for industry news
  • Make brief, transparent disclosure of affiliation when relevant

What gets posts removed

  • Posting landing/pricing pages, product demos or direct solicitations
  • Using affiliate links or obvious traffic-driving posts
  • Promoting cold-email tools, bulk email tools, or spammy practices
  • Crossposting low-effort or promotional content

Where this comes from

No shilling / no affiliate links

Rule expressly forbids shilling for email service providers and the sidebar notes 'No affiliate links' and prohibits promotional landing/pricing pages.

Service Provider flair allowed

Sidebar offers a 'Service Provider' user flair and an 'Industry News' link flair for industry participants, implying permitted participation if not promotional.

Remove traffic-driving / spammy posts

Mods will remove posts that drive traffic for inbound marketing or promote spammy services (selling lists, spam tools).

Focus on content-rich submissions

Only content-rich articles or posts are allowed — not home/pricing/landing pages.
